Wireless Systems
These are recommended by Honeycomb as being particularly appropriate for nurseries using an old building or one that was previously a home. Wireless not only makes installation cheaper, it also reduces unsightly wiring. A wireless system has a central panel that can then be connected to any of the accessories described below.
The system is designed to be very simple to operate, made easier still by using key fobs that automatically deactivate the alarm when the button is pressed.
The systems require a power supply and (optionally) a phone line for remote monitoring.

Wired Systems
Insurance companies may sometimes ask for a higher specification (or grade III) alarm to be installed, for example in a nursery or school that has been burgled many times before. In these cases and sometimes when the building design requires it, Honeycomb installs wired systems. These operate in the same way as wireless systems but require wires to each sensor.
Remote Monitoring
All Honeycomb systems can be connected up for remote alerts, either to a home or mobile phone or to a 24 hour specialised monitoring service. The monitoring service can also make a decision on whether to call the police. This saves Managers or staff from being disturbed in the night or from potentially dangerous encounters.
